(Prague, April 30, 2025) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on inspecting the compliance with Act No. 542/2020 Coll., on End-of-Life Products. A total of 2,320 inspections were carried out last year, with breaches of the Act on End-of-Life Products found in 849 inspections (i.e., 36.59% of the total number of inspections carried out).

(Prague, April 24, 2025) In the second half of last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected whether light chains delivered to the domestic market met the technical requirements. Breaches of legal regulations were found at five of seven distributors inspected, and four of the product samples inspected failed laboratory testing.

(Prague, April 14, 2025) The provisions of the Act on Retail and Wholesale Opening Hours, prohibiting sales on certain public holidays in stores larger than 200 square meters and other establishments, apply to Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.

(Prague, April 10, 2025) In late 2024, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out a regular inspection campaign focused on the offer, sale, and storage of pyrotechnic products. Between November 11 and December 31, 2024, its regional inspectorates carried out a total of 198 inspections. Of the total number of 168 completed inspections, they found misconduct in 85 inspections (50.6%).

(Prague, 8 April 2025) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected whether the basic requirements for toys safety are complied with and whether toys placed on and delivered to the market meet the technical and administrative requirements. 1,094 inspections were carried out, including 613 with detected breaches of a legal regulations. 2,122 toy models were inspected, and mainly administrative flaws were found in case of 1,002 models. 19 toys taken for inspection in the domestic market were reported to the international alert system...

(Prague, 3 April 2025) During the past year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on the fulfilment of obligations arising from Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection as imposed on vendors offering and selling goods in relation to the provision of discounts. Within the inspection action, it carried out a total of 1,755 inspections, and infringements of legal regulations were detected in 796 cases, i.e. 45.36% of the total number of inspections carried out.

(Prague, 2 April 2025) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 1,000 inspections focused on compliance with obligations stemming from generally binding legal regulations in relation to the offer and sale of products via the means of distance communication. Infringements were found in 822 inspections.
