The Czech Trade Inspection Authority checked compliance with the ban on abusive arrangements in consumer contracts

(Prague, May 14, 2025) In the final third of last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitored compliance with the obligations arising from the Consumer Protection Act, in particular from the provisions of Section 7 of the Act, and checked whether abusive arrangements were being used in contracts concluded with consumers. Violations of the legislation were found in 50 inspections out of a total of 73 inspections (68.49%).

(Prague, May 8, 2025) A control group of Czech Trade Inspection Inspectors from the Inspectorate of the Central Bohemia and Prague, together with forty customs inspectors from the Customs Office for the Capital City of Prague, carried out a joint inspection operation in the SAPA market in Prague at the end of April. They focused on checking compliance with the ban on the offer, sale and storage of products infringing certain intellectual property rights.
