Three fuel samples tested in January failed

(Prague, 28 March 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitored the fuel quality in the month of January 2024. 269 samples were taken, three samples failed the quality requirements, representing 1.1% of the total number of failed samples.

On Easter Monday, 1 April, sales are prohibited in establishments over 200 square metres of sales area, but this ban does not apply on Good Friday

(Prague, 27 March 2024) The provision of the Retail Sales Hours Act prohibiting sales on certain public holidays in establishments larger than 200 square metres and other establishments applies to Easter Monday, 1 April 2024.

(Prague, 20 March 2024) Czech Trade Inspection Authority staff have found a product on the internal market that poses a serious risk due to possible environmental pollution. The product in question is the battery-operated toy "SPECIAL MISSION Light Tank". The product was reported to the MIT contact point and information about it was published in the Safety Gate system.

2023 fuels quality: 12 of 2,542 taken samples failed

(Prague, 15 March 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority regularly monitors and evaluates the fuel quality in the Czech market. Last year, it took a total of 2,542 samples of fuels at Czech filling stations. 12 samples (0.5%) failed the quality requirements. The CTIA imposed a ban on the sale of 29,360.71 litres of fuels in the value of CZK 1,057,070.89. Compared to 2022, there was an improvement, when in 2022, out of 2,545 samples taken, 18 (0.7%) did not comply with the quality requirements

Due to the ongoing relocation of the General Inspectorate of the CTIA and the Inspectorate of Central Bohemian Region and the City of Prague to the new headquarters in Gorazdova/Dittrichova Street in Prague, the operation of the CTIA will be substantially limited from 18 March 2024 to 28 March 2024.
