(Prague, July 30, 2026) In the second quarter of this year, the CTIA continued its inspections to ensure compliance with the ban on offering, selling, and storing products infringing certain intellectual property rights. It carried out 204 inspections and found violations of the ban on offering, selling, and storing products infringing certain intellectual property rights in 111 of those inspections (54.41%).

(Prague, July 20, 2026) In the first quarter of this year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued to monitor compliance with the ban on offering, selling, and storing products infringing certain intellectual property rights. It carried out 99 inspections and found breaches of the prohibition on offering for sale, selling, and storing products infringing certain intellectual property rights in 23 of those inspections, representing 23.23% of the inspections conducted.

(Prague, July 15, 2026) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspection activity focused on online sales in the first quarter of this year. The inspections, carried out by all Regional Inspectorates of the CTIA, focused on sellers’ compliance with obligations under the Act on Consumer Protection, the Civil Code, and other legal regulations when selling goods online.

(Prague, June 30, 2026) During the first quarter, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspection activity, which primarily verifies whether sellers comply with Act No. 65/2017 Coll., on the protection of health against the harmful effects of addictive substances, and other legal requirements within the CTIA’s surveillance jurisdiction. It inspected 1,666 times and identified infringements in 721 of them (43.28%). Among the most serious findings was the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors, which was detected in 75 cases.

(Prague, June 17, 2026) The CTIA focuses on monitoring sellers’ compliance with their obligations when offering discounts on the prices of goods and services under Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection. It also devoted increased attention to discount inspections in the first quarter of this year, when it carried out 652 inspections and found breaches of legal regulations in 257 of them.

(Prague, June 4, 2026) From January 2 to March 31, 2026, the CTIA conducted an inspection activity focused on the operations of second-hand stores and pawnshops. The goal was to verify compliance with obligations regarding the prevention of money laundering, restrictions on nighttime operations of pawnshops, the Consumer Protection Act, and other legal regulations. A total of 66 inspections were carried out in the first quarter, of which 30 revealed breaches of legal regulations.

(Prague, May 14, 2026) At the end of last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out a routine inspection activity focused on the offering, sale, and storage of pyrotechnic articles. Between December 1 and 31, 2025, its regional inspectorates conducted a total of 196 inspections. Of the total 177 completed inspections, misconduct was found in 66 (37.29%); of these, 45 (25.42%) involved breaches of requirements regarding the labelling, storage, or marketing of pyrotechnic articles.

(Prague, May 5, 2026) Over the past year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected whether traders discriminated against consumers. It conducted a total of 106 inspections, of which 49 revealed breaches of legal regulations, and in 11 cases, there was a suspicion of some form of discriminatory conduct.

(Prague, April 28, 2026) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) has evaluated its inspections of textile products. Between June and November 2025, it carried out a total of 1,148 inspections and identified breaches of legal regulations in 464 of them. The results of the inspection activity confirmed that deficiencies generally arise from incorrect labelling of textile products, but also from other issues related to the sale of textile products, which are regulated, for example, by the Act on Consumer Protection.

(Prague, April 16, 2026) Last year, inspectors from the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 115 inspections at 106 economic operators placing wood and wood products on the market within an inspection activity. The activity focused primarily on split firewood. Shortcomings were identified in 11 inspections.
