(Olomouc, 2 November 2023) Staff of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority in the Olomouc Region carried out 8 inspections during the Flora Olomouc Hortikomplex 2023 autumn exhibition in October. The inspections were focused mainly on the fairness of sales, pricing, issuance of proof of purchase of products and metrology, the so-called selected products were also inspected.

(Prague, November 1, 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has inspected protective equipment against gunshot wounds or knife stabbings such as ballistic vests, bulletproof vests or ballistic plates this year. In total, it inspected 11 types of these products and found deficiencies in all of them.

(Prague, 27 October 2023) Based on consumer complaints, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) focuses on inspections of online sellers offering the sale of "undelivered" or "lost parcels" or "surprise packages". This phenomenon has gained momentum in the Czech internet environment in recent months and the CTIA is currently carrying out several inspections of internet retailers.

(Pilsen, 26 October 2023) This week, representatives of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, the Inspectorate of the Pilsen and Karlovy Vary Regions, handed over to the clients of the Život bez bariér (Life Without Barriers) organisation Nová Paka and the Handicap centrum Srdce Poděbrady a total of almost 1,600 items of clothing and toys seized during inspections of counterfeit goods.

(Prague, 25 October 2023) The provisions of the Act on Retail and Wholesale Opening Hours, which prohibit sales on certain public holidays, also apply to the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State on 28 October. Large stores with a sales area of more than 200 m² must be closed on 28 October 2023.

(Prague, 24 October 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitored the quality of fuels in September 2023, taking a total of 203 samples. All samples met the quality requirements.

(České Budějovice, 19 October 2023) Last week, representatives of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority Inspectorate of the South Bohemian and Vysočina Regions handed over one hundred and twenty items of clothing seized during counterfeit inspections to boys from the Velké Meziříčí Educational Institute in Žďár nad Sázavou.

(Pardubice, 13 October 2023) On Sunday, 8 October, inspectors of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Inspectorate for the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Region, carried out an extraordinary inspection action focused on the sale of refreshment stands at the 133rd edition of the "Velká Pardubická 2023" horse race.

(Prague, 12 October 2023) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority participated in an international surveillance event focused on selected gas appliances - outdoor gas heaters with forced air convection. It monitored whether they meet the applicable requirements of harmonisation legislation so that they can be placed on the market. In total, 9 products were inspected and deficiencies were found in 6 products.
