(Prague, 24 August 2023) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority checked whether cordless lawn mowers supplied to the Czech market meet the requirements of the legislation applicable to these products. It inspected a total of 30 lawnmowers and found 2 of them in breach of the legislation.

(Prague, 16 August 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its toy inspections in Q2 2023, inspecting a total of 372 toy models intended for children up to 14 years of age and finding deficiencies in 233 models. It assessed two models as unsafe, which were reported to the international alert system Safety Gate.

(Prague, 11 August 2023) On 6 January 2023, an amendment to Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, came into force, which includes new legislation on the provision of information on discounts on product prices. (Hradec Králové, 9 August 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority for the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions has carried out an extraordinary inspection action focused on the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. The CZO carried out a total of 18 inspections and in 10 cases alcoholic beverages and tobacco products were sold to minors.

(Prague, 8 August 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) has evaluated its inspections of textile products. During 2022 and 2023, it carried out 858 inspections and found violations of legal regulations in half of them. The results of the inspections confirmed that the shortcomings are usually found in incorrect labelling of textile products, but also in other matters related to the sale of textile products, which are regulated, for example, by the Consumer Protection Act.
