(Ústí nad Labem, November 3, 2016) A consumer can make a claim of a travel package at both tour operator and travel agent. Both is possible. The inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority based in Liberec responded to such claim from a consumer. (Ostrava, November 2, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority in cooperation with the Customs Office of the Moravian-Silesian Region carried out an inspection at the so called “Šenovská burza” at the Šenovská Street in Ostrava in mid-October. (České Budějovice, October 25, 2016) On the edge of September and October a traditional exhibition ‘Hobby autumn 2016’ was held in České Budějovice. Vendors were offering goods and services focused on animal breeding, do-it-yourself tools, collecting as well as household and garden equipment. The event provided cultural programmes connected with provision of public alimentation services and fast food. (Prague, October 26, 2016) In September, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out regular sampling and inspections of fuels. Three of 215 fuel samples failed the quality requirements, hence, the situation slightly worsened when compared with August. Prohibition of sale was imposed on more than 6,500 litres of fuels amounting to almost CZK 151,000.The complete press release is available in the attachment.

(Continuous report of the 2nd quarter of 2016)(Prague, October 21, 2016) In the 2nd quarter of 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority notified only half of organized presentation sales events when compared with the 1st quarter of 2016. However, infringements of law were detected in almost 80% of 102 inspections that were carried out. Organizers most frequently and repeatedly breach law as regards the obligation to report organized events in advance as well as the requirements for invitations to such events. The traditional 42nd Golden Ribbon and 126th Velka Pardubicka brought sport fans to the city of Pardubice. The related sale at stands located at the speedway venue in Svítkov and the steeplechase venue was the subject to an extraordinary inspection carried out by the Královéhradecký and Pardubický Inspectorate of the CTIA. (Ústí nad Labem, October 18, 2016) Farmers’ markets as well as other market types have become a part of public life in Czech cities and villages. One of them was the subject to an inspection carried out by the Czech Trade Inspectorate Authority in the Ústí Region. (Ústí nad Labem, October 17, 2016) Readers’ interest in purchases in classic books is still high in the Czech Republic despite the popularity of electronic reading is increasing. People love paper especially when book shops sell books for reasonable prices or in clearance sales. (Hradec Králové, October 14, 2016) On September 27, 2016, a joint inspection action of surveillance institutions of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions was carried out. Employees of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Czech Metrological Institute, Customs Administration, Czech Environmental Inspectorate, and Regional Labour Inspectorate focused on inspections of the retail market network, services and premises of public alimentation.
