(Brno, 1 June 2023) In late May, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority Inspectorate of the South Moravian and Zlín Regions carried out an extraordinary inspection action at the Hatě marketplace aimed at the ban on the sale of counterfeit goods. In 29 stands, its officers seized 3,288 pieces of counterfeit goods with the value of CZK 10,641,207. “After all the expert opinions are elaborated, confirming that these are counterfeits of world trademarks, administrative proceedings will be initiated with the inspected persons and a decision will be made on the amount of the fine and forfeiture of the goods. The products will then be destroyed or handed over for humanitarian purposes,” says Karel Havlíček, the Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Inspectorate of the South Moravian and Zlín Regions, about the inspection results.
