CTIA inspected more than 2,600 toy models in 2025, reporting eleven to the “Safety Gate” alert system

(Prague, February 24, 2026) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected compliance with the fundamental safety requirements for children's toys and the toys' compliance with technical and administrative requirements when delivered to the market. A total of 1,218 inspections were carried out, including 764 within which officers found infringements of one or more legal regulations. Battery-powered toy “Microphone Stand” contains excessive amounts of lead and cadmium

(Prague, 12 September 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has found a product in the market that poses a serious risk to the environment. The product is the battery-operated toy called „Stojan s mikrofonem“ ("Stand with microphone"). In the soldered joint inside the toy, laboratory tests showed that the lead and cadmium content exceeded the permitted limit values many times over.

Battery-powered toy “AMG JEEP Glow Car” contains excessive amounts of lead and poses a serious risk to the environment

(Prague, 11 September 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has found a product in the market that poses a serious risk. The product in question is the battery-operated toy "Svítící auto AMG JEEP ("AMG JEEP Light-up Car"). The toy poses a serious risk to the environment due to possible pollution. The CTIA has therefore imposed a protective measure on the distributor consisting of a distribution ban and a withdrawal of the product from the market.
