(Prague, 7 September 2023) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspections of e-shops in the second quarter of this year. It carried out a total of 152 inspections and found breaches of legal regulations in 131 cases. “The inspection results for the 2nd quarter of 2023 confirmed that there are violations of consumer legislation in the area of online sales. Deficiencies persist in particular in the provision of information on products sold or services provided. In the following period, the inspections will continue to target online shops that, based on the experience from previous periods or on the knowledge provided to the CTIA by the consumer public as well as other state and local government authorities, breached legislation within the CTIA’s surveillance scope,” says Jan Štěpánek, CTIA Director, commenting on the results of the inspection action.
