CTIA: Using the 3D PEN-2 pen can cause injury

(Prague, December 5, 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found that there is electrical equipment in the domestic market that may pose a risk to consumers. The product is sold under the name 3D PEN-2 pen + refill set 155m blue, model 9620. The product was found to be a serious risk of electric shock. The CTIA ordered an immediate withdrawal of the product from the market.

CTIA bans more dangerous magnetic balls in the market

(Prague, December 2, 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) found a dangerous product in the domestic market, which is offered as Magnetické kuličky Neocube v dárkovém balení (Neocube magnetic balls in a gift packaging), model BY-1C5NI. The magnetic flux flow values were exceeded several times for the tested toy.

More than half of the battery-operated toys and models inspected were not in order

(Prague, 23 November 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has evaluated inspections focused on toys and battery-operated models. During one year, it inspected a total of 76 products and found deficiencies in 48 cases. 20 products were classified as unsafe due to excessive amounts of lead and 8 products were found to have excessive amounts of cadmium. CTIA has banned a food-like product on the market

(Prague, 22 November 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found that a product is offered in the domestic market that can be confused with food and may pose an increased risk to people with reduced cognitive abilities, especially children. The product is a grape wine plastic imitation, sold as EUROPALMS Green grapes with leaves, model number 83309251.

Sellers forget to inform about product take-back

(Prague, 15 November 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority evaluated inspections focused on compliance with Act No. 542/2020 Coll., on end-of-life products. It carried out a total of 471 inspections and found breaches of this law in 162 cases. As internet trading grows, so does the number of infringements

(Prague, 11 November 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspections of e-commerce. "The CTIA's inspections have confirmed that deficiencies persist in Q3 2022, particularly in the provision of complete information about the products sold. In some cases, traders also resorted to unfair commercial practices. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority will consistently focus on the internet trading segment and will continue its inspections," says Jan Štěpánek, Director of the CTIA, commenting on the results of the inspections.

4 fuel samples taken in September failed

(Prague, 31 October 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its quality inspections of fuel. In September, it took 182 fuel samples, including 4 samples that failed to meet the quality requirements. These were 1 automotive petrol sample and 3 diesel samples.

The CTIA banned a battery-powered off-road car

(Prague, 27 October 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found a toy on the domestic market that significantly exceeds the permitted limit for lead in the product. The toy is a battery-powered off-road car, model number 69040 R/C. An immediate withdrawal of the product from the market was ordered.
