CTIA detected violations of law in 3 of 4 inspections of respirators in the market

(Prague, 8 April 2022) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) carried out inspections focused on personal respiratory protective equipment - filtering respirators. It carried out a total of 1,340 inspections and found violations of legal regulations in 1,005 cases (i.e. 75%). The CTIA imposed 510 fines amounting to CZK 8,311,000 for breaches of legislation. It also issued distribution bans on 972,036 products worth CZK 20,000,825.

CTIA withdraws SAN BANG respirator from the market

(Prague, 31 March 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found that a model of personal respiratory protective equipment - a respirator that does not meet the requirements for FFP2 type respirators - is available in the domestic market. The respirator in question was a 'SAN BANG' brand respirator. The CTIA ordered the withdrawal of this product from the market.

CTIA seized counterfeit goods for nearly 62 million crowns in 2021

(Prague, 4 March 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out a total of 699 inspections during the past year, aiming at compliance with the ban on the offer, sale and storage of products infringing certain intellectual property rights (Section 8 of Act No. 634/1992 Coll.). More than half of inspected hand jacks failed the technical requirements

(Prague, 17 February 2022) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) carried out an inspection operation focused on the fulfilment of technical requirements for manual jacks supplied to the domestic market. CTIA inspected a total of 26 products and found deficiencies in 14 products. One product was assessed as unsafe and ordered to be withdrawn from the market because the lack of structural strength could lead to deformation of the jack and subsequent collapse of the vehicle.

Diesel and petrol inspections in 2021 performed best ever

(Prague, February 7, 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority saw a total of 8 non-compliant diesel samples out of 1,247 taken in 2021, which represented 0.6%, the best result ever. At the same time, the CTIA took 1015 samples of petrol, with only one sample being non-compliant, being 0.1%, it was also the best result ever.

Inspection of payment cards without breaches of legislature

(Prague, 28 January 2022) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA) audited compliance with Regulation (EU) No 2015/751 of the European Parliament and of the Council on interchange fees for card payment transactions. It carried out a total of 103 inspections and found no deficiencies in this area.

CTIA inspections proved the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors

(Prague, 27 September 2021) In the second quarter of 2021, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued to inspect the supply, sale and storage of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
