Energy auctions are still problematic

Sellers breached Consumer Protection Act at Země živitelka

(České Budějovice, September 5, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continuously monitors events that are frequently visited. Specifically, it focuses on the offer and sale at stands where consumers buy goods and refreshments. At this year's Země živitelka exhibition, the CTIA of South Bohemia carried out 15 inspections and found breaches of legal regulations at 11 inspections.

CTIA found counterfeits for more than 2.5 million CZK at Flea Market in Vysočany

(Prague, September 3, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Central Bohemia Region and of the Capital of Prague carried out an extraordinary inspection and the Vysočany Flea Market. CTIA officers carried out in total 5 inspections aimed at the offer and sale of counterfeited goods. In 4 cases, they detected breaches of the Act on Consumer Protection. They discovered 989 items of counterfeits amounting to CZK 2,531,938 when calculated in the prices of originals.

Half of inspected sellers damaged consumer rights in Kravaře

(Ostrava, September 2, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian Regions carried out inspections at the traditional fair Kravařský odpust. Officers aimed at the sale of products and provision of services at the stands and in public alimentation facilities and found breaches of the Act on Consumer Protection in 6 cases.

CTIA detected counterfeits for 8.5 million CZK in Vyšší Brod

(České Budějovice, August 30, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the South Bohemian Regions and the Vysočina Region carried out an extraordinary inspection at the marketplace in Vyšší Brod. All sellers in stands sold alcoholic beverages to juveniles

(Hradec Králové, August 27, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Hradec Králové Region and Pardubice Region inspected compliance with the prohibition to sell alcoholic beverages to persons under 18 years at the HIP HOP Kemp festival in Hradec Králové. CTIA officers carried out six inspections and detected violations of legal regulations in all cases. Five cases related to the sale of alcoholic beverages to juveniles.

CTIA prohibited a dangerous hairdryer

(Prague, August 23, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found a dangerous hairdryer Sencor which was offered and sold in the Czech market. Within laboratory tests, the plastic cover melted and the parts of the electric circuit uncovered. The user can burn in the consequence of the melting or get in touch with the parts of electric circuit and get injured by the electric current.

CTIA inspected electric hair care products

(Prague, August 22, 2019) Within an international surveillance project, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out inspections focused on electric products offered in the EU market. The CTIA inspected nine models of hairdryers, curling irons and hair irons. Five of the products failed to meet the requirements.

CTIA prohibited the car „Stunt Radio Control“

(Praha, August 21, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found out that a toy „Autíčko STUNT RADIO CONTROL” is offered in the Czech market. The toy significantly exceeds the permitted limits of lead and cadmium. Further, the information that the toy isn’t suitable for children under three years, is displayed only in English on the packaging.
