Extraordinary inspections at Brno fireworks Ignis Brunensis 2017

(Brno, June 23, 2017) In late May and especially in early June, the international fireworks festival IGNIS BRUNENSIS is held in Brno every year. Besides fireworks also refreshment was ready for visitors of the 20th edition. On June 14, 2017, the CTIA carried out an extraordinary inspection focused on compliance with the Act on Consumer Protection at this event. Five of fourteen inspected restaurants and stands failed.

CTIA took counterfeits of sports footwear

(Liberec, March 24, 2017) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Ústí and Liberec Regions took 58 pairs of counterfeited sports footwear amounting to CZK 174,000 in the first half of May 2017. The complete press release is available in the attachment.

CTIA warns against .cz domain e-shops

(Praha, May 19, 2017) Recently there has been a number of websites with the .cz domain offering especially footwear which provided no information about sellers. Terms suggested that the website was translated to Czech automatically. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority warns consumers against these websites. Alcohol in 2016

(Final report of 2016)(Prague, April 18, 2017) In 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out in total 4,955 inspections focused on sale of alcohol in the retail network. During the inspection, CTIA officers inspected compliance with generally binding legal regulations and discovered no breach of the acts on excise duties and obligatory labelling of spirits. Euro Hockey Tour in České Budějovice

(May 11, 2017, České Budějovice) The tournament Czech Hockey Games 2017 was held within the Euro Hockey Tour in České Budějovice from April 27 to April 30, 2017, and many fans came to see the matches. So the Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on inspection of provision of services at public alimentation facilities. 16 entities were inspected, including 8 in which breaches of law were detected. Tobacco in 2016

(Final report of 2016) (Prague, May 10, 2017) In 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 3,845 inspections within which it focused on the offer, sale and storage of tobacco products. The legislation in question was foremost the Act No. 353/2003 Coll. on Excise Duties. Winter season 2016

(Prague, May 5, 2017) Last winter brought more snow but also more flaws detected within inspections carried by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. There were 477 inspections focused on offer and sale of products and provision of services especially in mountain ski resorts, sport venues, ice and skating rinks, cable cars and ski lifts, ski rentals, and public alimentation facilities. Counterfeits for CZK 300,000 took at marketplace in Strážné

(České Budějovice, May 3, 2017) A special inspection at the marketplace in Strážné ended up with 119 pieces of counterfeits amounting to almost CZK 300,000 collected by the CTIA inspectors. Extraordinary inspection: CTIA took goods for almost CZK 700.000

(Ústí nad Labem, April 24, 2017) Repeated violations of intellectual property rights are traditionally seen at marketplaces in border regions. This was confirmed by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Ústí and Liberec Regions in Hřensko where inspectors took 1,430 pieces of imitations amounting to CZK 676,800.
