On the first and second Christmas and New Year’s Day, sales are prohibited in establishments over 200 square metres of sales area, as well as on Christmas Eve from 12 a.m.

(Prague, 18 December 2024) The Act on Retail and Wholesale Opening Hours, which prohibits sales in establishments with over 200 square metres of sales area and in some other establishments, also applies on the 1st and 2nd Christmas holidays on 25 and 26 December, on Christmas Eve on 24 December from 12 a.m. to 24 p.m. and on the Day of the Restoration of the Independent Czech State and New Year’s Day on 1 January 2025.
