(Prague, September 1, 2020) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued to inspect the fuels quality in July. 1 of 284 taken samples did not comply with the quality requirements. It was an automotive petrol sample.

(Hradec Králové, August 26, 2020) The CTIA Inspectorate of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions carried out an extraordinary inspection activity aimed at the prohibition on the sale of alcohol to juveniles during the summer touristic season. It carried out 39 inspections in the Eastern Giant Mountains and found out that in 24 cases, alcoholic beverages were sold to persons under the age of 18.

(Prague, August 25, 2020) In the second quarter of 2020, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued with inspections on compliance with the laws in the supply, sale and storage of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. It carried out 957 inspections during this period and found infringements in 294 cases.

(Prague, August 20, 2020) In the second quarter of 2020, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out an inspection activity aimed at consumer discrimination. In total, it carried out 134 inspections and found suspected forms of this undesirable conduct in 3 cases. (Prague, 19 August 2020) In the area of technical inspection, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on transportable pressure equipment – disposable gas cartridges. These are frequently used refills for portable camping cookers and lights, for example. As part of this action, inspectors inspected 12 product types. In 7 types, they found deficiencies that were formal in nature and didn‘t compromise user safety.

(Hradec Králové, 18 August 2020) At the beginning of August, the Inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions carried out a special inspection focused on the sale of alcohol to minors. In total, it carried out 6 inspections and in all cases alcoholic beverages were sold to persons under the age of 18.

(České Budějovice, 17 August 2020) Based on a consumer submission, the Inspectorate of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the South Bohemian and Vysočina Regions carried out a special inspection aimed at the sale of alcoholic beverages to juveniles. 3 inspections were carried out involving juvenile figurants in food stores in the Prachatice district. Violations of the prohibition to sell alcoholic beverages to juveniles were found during all three inspections, when flavoured alcoholic beverages were sold to the figurants.

(Prague, 7 August 2020) USB chargers, laptop chargers and rechargeable batteries are widely used by consumers. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on this assortment and evaluated the inspections carried out in 2019. In total, it inspected 11 types of chargers and found deficiencies in 6 types.
