(Prague, October 12, 2018) Electric cars are becoming more and more popular in the Czech Republic. Manufacturers expect that sales will increase significantly in the upcoming years. With the increasing interest in buying these cars, the number of charging stations is increasing. During June and July of 2018, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out its first inspection focused on compliance with the legal regulations governing these products.

(Prague, October 9, 2018) In the second quarter of 2018, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out an inspection focused on compliance with the Act on Health Protection from the Harmful Effects of Drugs. Specifically, it focused on the sale of tobacco products. It also monitored compliance with the Act on Excise Duties and other legislation. More than a half of the inspections showed that traders violated the law.

(Prague, August 30, 2018) In the second quarter of this year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 105 inspections, focusing also on law that puts obligation traders to properly identify their clients. (Prague, September 26, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority alerts consumers about the changes of the opening hours of the Information and Advisory Service. As from October 1, 2018, personal visits to the premises of the seats of individual CTIA inspectorates will be possible during the following opening hours within two week days: Monday 8 to 12 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday 8 to 12 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. The change doesn’t affect the Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate where the opening ours for the consumer public remain the same. ...

(Ústí nad Labem, September 26, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Ústí Region and Liberec Region carried out inspections at the exhibition Zahrada Čech in Litoměřice. It carried out 12 inspections and detected violations of law in case of only one seller who didn’t inform consumers about prices of offered products and didn’t issue any bill of purchase.

(Ostrava, September 20, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carries out annual inspections on NATO Days aimed at compliance with the Act on Consumer Protection. This year, deficiencies were detected in 4 of 10 inspections.

(České Budějovice, September 9, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 19 inspections of stand sale at the exhibition Země živitelka 2018. Inspectors found to breaches of law in 12 of them, which was 63 %.
