(Report for the third quarter 2024) (Prague, 2 December 2024) During the third quarter of this year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued to carry out inspections within the framework of the inspection action on whether sellers comply with Act No. 65/2017 Coll., on Health Protection against the Harmful Effects of Drugs, Act No. 353/2003 Coll., on Excise Duties, Act No. 307/2013 Coll., on Compulsory Labelling of Alcohol, and other laws. The CTIA carried out 1,865 inspections, and deficiencies were detected in 886 inspections (47.51%)....

(Prague, 26 November 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has evaluated the extraordinary inspection action "Alcohol, Drugs and Youth 2024". In cooperation with other state administration bodies, municipalities and public health protection authorities, it carried out a total of 168 inspections and found infringements of legal regulations in 89 inspections. The inspection action used invited persons under the age of 18 in 89 of them. Alcohol was sold or served to juveniles in 47 cases.

(Prague, 25 November 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitored the quality of fuels in October 2024. It took a total of 205 samples at filling stations in the Czech Republic, including 76 samples of automotive petrol, 101 samples of diesel, 1 sample of paraffinic diesel, 24 samples of LPG and 3 samples of CNG. One diesel sample failed the quality requirements. This represented 0.5% of non-compliant samples in the overall assessment.

(Ostrava, Brno, 21 November 2024) From May to September this year, employees of the regional inspectorates of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority in the regions of Moravia inspected whether sunglasses sold in the domestic market meet the requirements of legal regulations. In particular, they focused on correct labelling of the products and the provision of information required when the product is sold.

(Prague, 19 November 2024) The term "Black Friday" has become synonymous with discount sales. In American tradition, it is the fourth Friday in November, when massive sales take place; nowadays the term is used for discount events in general.

(Prague, 12 November 2024) The provision of the Act on Retail and Whole Sale Opening Hours prohibiting sales on certain public holidays in establishments with the sales area larger than 200 square metres and other establishments does not apply to the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day on Sunday 17 November.

(Brno, November 6, 2024 ) Staffof the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Inspectorate of South Moravian and Zlín Regions, repeatedly carried out inspection actions in October and early November at the ASIA BAZAR marketplace at the Hatě border crossing, aimed at ensuring compliance with the ban on the offer, sale and storage of products infringing certain intellectual property rights.

(Prague, 5 November 2024) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitored the quality of fuels in September 2024. 239 samples were taken at filling stations in the Czech Republic, including 97 samples of automotive petrol, 108 samples of diesel, 30 samples of LPG and 4 samples of CNG. All samples met the legal quality requirements.

(Prague, 23 October 2024) The Act on Retail and Wholesale Opening Hours, which prohibits sales in establishments over 200 square metres of sales area and in certain other establishments, also applies on the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State on Monday 28 October 2024.
